Formal approval of the local action plan for human trafficking prevention in the municipal council of Bitola - January 2011 (Republic of Macedonia)

In the framework of the programme “Cross border local partnerships fighting Human Trafficking in FYR Macedonia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina”, co-financed by the European Union, on the 29th January 2011 the Municipal Council of Bitola (in the Republic of Macedonia) has finally formally approved the Local Action Plan for Human Trafficking Prevention formulated by the Bitola Joint Committee for Human Trafficking established with the support of the project.
The final adoption from the Municipality Council of the plan is a challenging result of the project, attesting the institutional impact of the action and the commitment of the Joint Committee involving different stakeholders at local level, representatives of the public authorities, social and educational services, procurement and police forces, of the civil society and of media.
Information on this important event were broadly broadcasted and spread by the radios, TV stations and newspapers at local and national level.
The Joint Committee in Bitola has been constantly support by the local NGO SEMPER.
