ITALY|Departure and arrival days: reports and making awareabout migration paths in the province of Naples

The purpose of this project is making aware and informing the neapolitan territory about the theme of migration through the building of a report path and recovery of the migrant memory.

The creation of laboratories and events oriented towards neapolitan citizens and migrant communities placed in the territory aim to create a reflection and a sharing space during a historical period in which is necessary, or better, is essential the mutual knowledge, which represents the most important tool in knocking down fears, stereotypes and prejudices, which generate racist and xenophobic behaviours. Such knowledge, if deepened, on the one hand can leads migrants to a consciousness raising about their rights encouraging a process of active participation, and, on the other hand, it can trigger a citizens’ reflection about the same one meaning of migration.

Today reporting migrations means to give voice to migrants contributing to their inclusion and participation in public life, favoring the encounter with all active subjects placed in the territory. An encounter which not only has to consist of initial reception interventions, but it has to represent a moment of very deep comparison and sharing.
The main purpose is talking about migrations in an unusual way: not only social integration, protection of the essential rights, satisfaction of basic needs, but also intercultural practice and Exchange, from a collective and civil perspective.

The project aims to face the theme of memory and reporting of migration through a conducting wire “Departure and arrival days” through:

- 2 deepening seminars about “Reporting migrations through audio-visual equipment” and “Migration paths and gathering of memories”.

- 1 laboratory: “The language through the report and the theatre/dance”.

The activities are oriented towards adult migrants and have as objective the language learning viewed as the means of oneself and his own identity expression and communication. During the laboratory are scheduled theatre and dance forms managed by migrants and oriented towards migrants. The main purpose of the laboratory is creating a mental and physical space where people have the chance of meeting, knowing and comparing with each other, forming their culture, through the use of an artistic language in which the everyday life adopts different dimensions and the role break down with the possibility of being reinvented. During the laboratory will be realized two video pills.
