Activities with schools
Awareness to issues of development cooperation is very important, since the school term.
Since its founding, CISS has recognized a special importance to all the training and educational activities that might lead to the creation of a new consciousness of solidarity.
For about twenty years we are present in schools and universities, with interventions for students and teacher training.
In schools CISS operates both with its own independent training proposals and as actor of interventions promoted by the schools themselves (usually in the POR and / or PON area).
CISS experts are specialized in the elaboration of routes for a didactics shared of Development and Intercultural.
The paths are modulated taking into account the diversity of learning styles, through the construction of mental maps not standardized, which pass through the cognitive work carried out daily in schools.
In their implementation the CISS proposes interactive teaching methods and laboratories, in order to experience the use of creative languages as tools of communication that, enabling the emotional intelligence and the free expression, promote the meeting and the intercultural interaction.
The main themes of work are as follows:
- the market and globalization: consumption
- things of another world
- the imaginary places of the meeting: the game as a tool of knowledge
- citizens of the world
- children in the south
- environment and development
- drug and development
- inter-culture and immigration
- responsible tourism: an alternative for development
- cultural and environmental heritage, fly to development
- human rights
- cooperative play.
The activity in schools has the support of our Documentation Center, within which you can find materials on the historical, geographical, political and economic reality of developing countries, as well as materials that the CISS produces its own: video, publications, teaching units, teaching kits and exhibitions.
