Documentation Centre

The large collection of books, magazines, articles, videos and exhibitions of the Documentation Centre (CEDOC) constitutes a unique heritage.

In 25 years of activity, the CISS has collected about 3,000 texts, divisible into the following categories:

International cooperation Migrants
Crime Fiction
Human rightsPolitics
EconomyGender issues
Education / TeachingSocial-health services 
Photography Sociology
Geography History
Gray material Sustainable development and natural resources


Much of the available documents are from countries of intervention of the CISS and are in their original language.

In particular, you will consult:

  • updated texts on principal current international issues: Israeli/ Palestinian conflict, globalization, sustainable development, studies on poverty, etc.
  • texts on Africa, Latin America and the Middle East
  • the most important magazines of international geopolitics.

 

In addition there are over 500 videos (documentaries, reportage of projects, films on the themes of the South of world, instructional videos, etc..) that complete the archive of the Documentation Centre.

Consultation and Loan

It is possible consulting the texts in seat, during the days and hours of operation, and a remote consultation by completing and sending this form, downloadable to the e-mail cedoc@cissong.org. The staff of the Documentation Center will respond via e-mail or fax to your requests, indicating the list of found texts.

They can be borrowed three texts at a time, for a maximum duration of fifteen days.
After communication to the staff of the CISS and relative registration, it is possible requesting an extension of the loan for up to 7 days more.


The CEDOC is also a meeting place for members and friends of the CISS, here we organize initiatives and events to which you are all invited to participate!

Where we are
The Documentation Centre 'Paola Buzzola' is located at the seat of the CISS of Palermo, Via G. Marconi n. 2 / A, and is open from Monday to Friday, at 10.00/17.30.
